Our COACHES

DEBBIE PELTIER
Coach Debbie Peltier has coached all levels of volleyball for many years. A gloried educator and coach, Peltier retired from Hamshire-Fannett after taking many girls deep into playoffs each year. She is loved and admired by all and is an inspiration to all Texas Ultimate volleyball club members and staff.
KASI VARDELL
Coach Vardell—27—picked up a volleyball at the age of 3 and never looked back!
I started organized volleyball in 7th grade, played club and school volleyball as a setter all 4 years of high school and received awards for Newcomer of the Year my Junior year and 1st Team All-District my Senior year. I have been coaching ever since graduation. I started at the YMCA and my 11yo team went undefeated and were labeled “champions” of the season! After a few years I took the Assistant coaching position at Anahuac High School. That same year I started coaching for Texas Ultimate and it has been one of the best decisions I have made! My coaching style is positive and hands on! I love being around the game and building relationships with the girls as they grow as players and people!

ALEXIS DOUB
Hi! I’m Coach Alexis and I am so excited to get started this year. I have played school ball and club for 5 years and loved every minute. Volleyball has taught me how to work as a team, communicate with others, learn from my losses, and to celebrate all victories. My senior year I got the over all heart award for our volleyball program and I can not wait to share my passion for the game with all of you!
HANNAH WIEGREFFE
Hi my name is Hannah Wiegreffe. I played school ball at Bridge City for 6 years and club ball starting my seventh grade year. I lettered as a freshman and played varsity for four years. I also received all-district honors every year . I have coached at Queen of the Court for two years now and have coached various summer leagues, camps, and private lessons!

BRANDI ROBINSON
I have always had a love and passion for the game and as the years went on it just grew deeper and deeper. From school ball to select ball I always had a full schedule, but I lived for every moment that I got to spend on the court with my peers and closest friends. Volleyball gave me a deeper understanding of working hard and getting exactly what you put in. Now that I have graduated and no longer compete it brings me such honor and joy to be able to teach the skills and techniques I have acquired over the 6/7 years of playing the game. Seeing athletes improve their skills during this 5 to 6 month period and their love for the game get stronger is an indescribable experience.

cara robinson
My name is Cara Robinson, and I have been in education for 21 years as a teacher and a coach. I have coached various levels and various sports throughout Southeast Texas and East Texas ranging from Silsbee HS, Beaumont West Brook, and Vidor High School to Sabine Middle and High School in Liberty City near Kilgore, TX. Currently, I am an 8th grade ELAR teacher at Vidor Junior High.
My many coaching opportunities over the years are a direct result of my football-coaching husband! I am the proud wife to Dickie Robinson for 20 years. He is a 20-year educator and serving his first year as the defensive coordinator at Hardin-Jefferson. Together we have two children, Addison (12) and Colton(9).
My philosophy of coaching is focused on the athlete learning to appreciate the rules, mechanics, and strategies of volleyball. I also hope to instill a true love of the game that will teach them so many life lessons. Through repetition of skills and communication of situations, my goal is for your daughter to walk away from her time at Texas Ultimate VBA with a better understanding of this beautiful sport!

ashley frank
Sports have always been a huge passion of mine. I started playing a variety of different sports at an early age, but it wasn’t until 7th grade that I was introduced to the intriguing game of volleyball. I fell in love with the sport and continued playing through high school, as a 3 year varsity player. After obtaining my college degree, I began teaching and coaching at Vidor Jr High.
Through my 8 years at Vidor, I coached 7th & 8th grade, Freshmen and JV volleyball. At each coaching level, I developed a deeper love and understanding of the game that I want to pass on to young athletes. Since resigning from Vidor, I have continued coaching my own kids in soccer and basketball, but I am super excited for the opportunity to coach volleyball again! My goal is to help development your athletes volleyball skills, knowledge and love for the game!

PARENT & PLAYER RULESThe club has ZERO tolerance in regards to any illegal activities by its members. Texas Ultimate Volleyball will dismiss any member caught smoking, involved in drugs, drinking, or any other illegal activities. It is expected that all members of TUV represent themselves and the club in a respectful manner at all times. Everyone must understand that we are guests in the gyms in which we practice and compete. All actions reflect upon the player, team, and Texas Ultimate Volleyball. We expect parents to have respect towards our players, coaches, and referees at all times. Let the coaches do their jobs, which will help your player grow and develop into a mature skilled player. Be supportive of each team as well as opponents, and set a good sportsmanship example. We expect players to treat other players, coaches, and anyone else involved with TUV with respect. Players must watch your actions and words on and off the court. We will not tolerate any unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind with other team’s players, fans, coaches, and officials, and especially with each other!! If an athlete develops an attitude of a negative nature during the season, the coach and director will meet with the player and their parents to address the issue which may include discussing further association of the player with the club. Everyone will ref, keep score, and line judge at all tournaments. The ENTIRE team must stay as a team until the teams’ duties are COMPLETELY finished. Dismissal is done by the coach at the END of the day. (There are times the team may have to ref even if we are done playing.) Club Volleyball is competitive. In order to instill competitiveness in the players, playing time is earned during practice. Although it should be, and will strive to be, equal for all players, any playing time in a tournament is entirely the coach’s decision. There are many circumstances that go with playing time, and a coach can sit down and discuss these if a problem seems to arise. The coach however, will only discuss the child in question and no other athletes or athlete’s playing time. If a player becomes injured during the season, a doctor’s release is required for the player to return to practices and/or tournament play. No refunds will be given once the season starts December 1st. All athletes should be fully dressed and ready to practice at the start of their assigned practice at all times. Players must notify their coach PRIOR to any absence or tardiness. Excessive absences and tardiness will not be tolerated. Please understand that you committed yourself to a TEAM and that participation is necessary for a winning team. Excessive tardiness and absences will be discussed in private with the player and their parents. Possible dismissal from the team can result. We understand that there may be times when there is an emergency. We will take and look at each situation on a case-by-case basis. If a problem arises between a player and coach, please follow this protocol: Player talks with the Head Coach of their team. Player and Parent talk with the Head Coach of their team. Player, Parent, Coach, and Director will meet. COVID-19 Play at your own risk!! This is financially and physically. TUV will try and make up any play missed due to another shut down, but no promise on a refund. Most of the money collected is spent before the season starts and cannot be guaranteed to be there to give back if the season is halted again. You must agree to this before sending any payment!!!!!! PRACTICE GUIDELINESThis is given to all coaches prior to the start of the season: Active Practice Involves: Getting to the gym early, with a determination to get better in at least one area. Active practice means knowing your team’s weaknesses, and doing your best to improve them. Active practice means making sure your girls understand what you as a coach is trying to accomplish. Avoid drills that have girls standing too often. Have extras waiting shag or do wall drills if a slower drill is needed. The more often you give an active practice, the better players you'll make. And the more players on your that team give an active practice, the stronger your team will be. Have a Plan Productive Practices Cover: Write out a minute by minute or drill by drill plan. Need to touch these topics each practice at least some…but not limited to... Passing (Overhead and Forearm) Approaches and Swings Serving Conditioning GameDay Scenarios and Drills Need to touch these topics at least every now and then…as often as possible...
